Someone’s 0 has got to go

This weekend one of the most highly anticipated domestic Super Lightweight bouts take place at Glasgow’s Braehead arena, when Josh Taylor meets Ohara Davies.

Both men come into the fight with perfect records, with Taylor 9-0 and Davies 15-0. Davies is coming into the fight on the back of his biggest victory to date, against Liverpool’s Derry Matthews who he stopped in 3 rounds, and on his last outing Taylor stopped Warren Joubert in 6 rounds to successfully defend his super lightweight Commonwealth title.

The fight pits two of the best up and coming fighters in their division, and both must be given huge respect for taking the fight so early on in their careers, as it would of been easier to avoid each other and build the fight until a world title was on the line.

With both men held in high regard, it is very difficult to pick a clear winner, and speaking to fight fans it is very much viewed as a 50/50 contest, with Josh Bunting saying he thinks “Taylor will be quicker and fitter so thinks he will nick it, in what will be a hell of a battle”.

The bout will be held on a Cyclone Promotions bill, with a stacked undercard including Jason Easton, Chantelle Cameron, Gary Murray, Joe Ham and many more, coverage starts at 10pm on Channel 5.

Who wins the highly anticipated bout Saturday night? And who does the winner go on to face? Let us know in the comments below…
